The TDK – Student Research Societies - is a lot of work, but it is very rewarding! During your TDK, you will do research on a specific topic with the help of your advisor(s), and your TDK thesis can also form the basis of your future thesis.
Many people don't know, but international students can also do a TDK. So did Idrak Ezdini, a graduate student at BBU's Faculty of International Management and Business, who found it an exciting opportunity to present her research to the university community. Dr. Tamás Gáspár assisted her as a supervisor.
Why did you decide to participate in the TDK?
I.E.: It offered a unique opportunity to present my research to a wider academic community as an international student. My supervisor, Dr. Tamás Gáspár, encouraged me to participate, saying that the TDK could be an important stage in my academic and professional development.
What students can learn/benefit from participating in a TDK?
T.G.: In my experience participation has only advantages: a priliminary work for final thesis, which is to be reviewed by two experts. The presentation of the research is a kind of rehearsal for the final exam. In addition, meating and talking to other people of similar ensusiams and different research results is among the valuable event is life.
What was the most significant experience you had during the TDK?
I.E.: It was a great experience for me to present my research results to the jury and the audience. The feedback, the discussions with the jury and other participants at the TDK conference meant a lot.
What motivates you as a supervisor?
T.G.: The smile, which appears on the face of my students when they manage to grasp the research topic, questions and methods they are really involved in. At this moment they have a clear and colourful image of the structure, and all necessary research components fall into place. At the same time, new generations always refresh the frameworks of thinking, ask new questions and raise different aspects.
