Lectures +activities Learning outcomes: This class will explore concepts and practices related to Design Thinking in this unique, fast-paced environment, including the following: • the defining characteristics of Design Thinking, companies different types and patterns of innovation (Ford, Google and IBM), and their business implications the need for (and difficulties in) adopting a customer-driven services , • adaptations to the "5 step process" of Design Thinking context regulatory and ethical considerations in business arenas. Course Goals: students will develop knowledge of the complexities in developing business strategies, as well as tools and concepts that can be used to manage those difficulties. Students will leave the course with primary skills needed to develop and implement effective Design Thinking methodology in organization. Class Project: students will work with a company (e-commerce technology) on a business problem. Additional detail in class packet. |
