Our professional colleges are community-forming student organizations with high-quality professional training, the aim of which is to educate professionally demanding and responsible intellectuals who are sensitive to economic, business and social problems and to support talented students. There are 3 specialised students’ academic societies at BBS, which can be linked to the Faculties of the University. Our professional colleagues are active in the Students’ Research Society activities, in the organization of professional and community events, and study competitions. Each year they represent our university in about 10 international and 30-40 domestic competitions, of which an average of 2 international and 10 domestic places are taken.
BBS Students' Academic Societies:
The Sándor Lámfalussy Academic Society was founded in 2010 and took the name Sándor Lámfalussy Academic Society in 2016. The purpose of founding the organization is to give students the opportunity to gain throughout knowledge in the scientific areas of their chosen profession and to develop the competencies that are essential in business and are among the expectations of employers. Members of the Society organise courses each semester, some of which are available to members of the Society and others to other students in the faculty. These courses are advertised on topics whose topic arises as a need among the audience. In addition to the courses, the Members organise various training, lectures, workshops, case study competitions, professional study trips.
The goal of the Károly Gundel Academic Society of Economics is for its members to acquire, in addition to the knowledge acquired during the lessons, also deeper knowledge, which they can also utilise during their later careers. The Society pays special attention to broadening the horizons of its members, as well as to nurturing talent. Students will have the opportunity to get to know and master the profession better through various special courses, professional events, workshops and factory visits. The College regularly achieves high rankings in national and international competitions, Students’ Research Societies (TDK) and National Council of Student Research Societies (OTDK). Its members have also reached Guatemala, the Netherlands, Canada, South Korea, Ireland and Germany in recent years thanks to the Society!
Founded in 2011, the Káldor Miklós Academic Society is one of the youngest and most dynamically developing academic societies in Budapest. It aims to provide an opportunity for its members and, if possible, for all students of the University to acquire higher-level knowledge that complements university education. In addition to professional development, she places great emphasis on community programs and social responsibility, as well as international opportunities and participation in the Students’ Research Societies.
His community is truly cohesive as its members are driven by a common goal. They have a lot of self-organised joint programs. The common goal of the members of the Society is to become people who are sensitive to social processes and think responsibly, thus doing various projects and programs to protect the values of their environment and our society.
